Post 1845 Commander's Welcome

“When the covers are on the Colors, the 'funny lamp' is lit, when the covers come off the Colors, the 'lamp' is out.” That is what our Honor Guard Commander's policy is for Color/Honor Guard functions. That pretty much describes our Post as a whole. When it's serious business time, we're all about our business, when it's not, we have fun.

I'm glad you found us here on this Wide Wonderful World on the Webb. Welcome aboard!

The Scottish-American Military Society is a veterans organization of Scottish descendants. It is not a militia. Post 1845 is a new Post Chartered in October of 2013 in an organization that is over thirty years old. We're growing. We're looking for veterans and current service men and women to grow with us. I would like to have Post members who are engaged enough in the Post to participate in our functions, and activities. Members who also bring something to the table and thus not only increase our numbers, but enhance our Post and what it can accomplish. I would like for this Post to become the best Post in the Society. To do so, we will need not only individuals to fill the ranks, but who also expand what we are capable to achieve. Is this you?

This web site, and the SAMS National Website has information on membership, our goals, and purposes. Who our Post and National officers are. Local Posts and activities. Our quarterly magazine is The Patriot.

If you qualify for membership, we would welcome you to join and participate. If you have any questions, please contact us!

Yours Aye,
Thomas Duncan
